So close!

I've been in a bit of a stitching funk since the beginning of March . Even doing the Pikachus for the kids didn't help , so I decided I needed something to get stuck in to.
A while ago , I lent Sadie my chart of Autumn Row by Bent Creek , and in return , she lent me Spooky Row . So , last Thursday morning , I decided to get to it . I also thought it would be a good idea to keep tabs on the progress , so here goes .
I actually started in the middle ,which I think is a first for me . I usually count out to the top left hand corner and work my way across and down.
So , this is Thursdays' progress.

The Skelly Bob . I actually bought some glow-in-the-dark thread to stitch him with , but after doing the hand , I invited the frog in . Sheesh that stuff is horrible to work with .It's like stitching with wool . So , it was back to the regular stranded cotton .

Fridays' Progress Including the R,S and T as I had missed a stitch on the R , so had to re-stitch those . thankfully I realised before stitching the whole pumpkin , otherwise it might have stayed ,lol .

Saturdays' progress:

The bird (Vulture?) and then back to the middle to start going backwards. Not much done on Saturday , it was one of those days where I was wanting and trying to stitch , but didn't really get round to it properly .

Sunday:

Not including the black . I started stitching before remembering to take a picture , lol . Sunday was not a great day either as my Daughter wasn't well . She's back to bickering with her brother now , so I think she's ok , lol.

Monday .

I was this close to a finish when I called it a night. In the end , I may as well have stayed up to finish . I went to bed at 11.30 , but didn't go to sleep for at least another three hours , plenty of time to complete it .

So , here it is today.

It is really hard to get a decent picture of something this long . The Whole Thing .

Bent Creeks' Spooky Row . Started 14/4/11 , finished 19/4/11. On 32 count linen , using the suggested DMC threads , apart from 935 , which I swapped for 3808 .

A big Thank you to Sadie , I will be sending the chart back soon.

It will probably be put away for a while now , not sure whether to frame it or make a hanging.

All I have to do now is decide what to do next !

Thanks for dropping by ,

Cath

What a delightful piece, Cath! I just love the spooky eyes above the "C" and the waving skeleton--can't wait to see how you finish it :)

Cath, love your spooky row. Such a quick stitch for you. I love Bent Creek designs and this one is too cute.

I thoroughly enjoyed stitching this design last year, it stitches up so quickly and is great fun.
It is an awkward size though and in the end I made into a wall hanging with fabric tabs at the top, I look forward to seeing what you do with yours!
It's bad enough when one of the kiddies is poorly but it's twice as bad when the bickering starts!!!!

Oh, I just love this. I tried stitching the with glow in the dark thread once and had the same problem and ended up ripping it out.

What a fantastic finish Cath! I don't blame you for going with normal thread as the glow in the dark stuff is awful to stitch with.

Love it! Halloween is one of my fave holidays (this pattern is also on my to-do list).

I did a Mill Hill ghost pin with the glow in the dark thread. Yes it was horrible to work with. It only glows when I am sitting in a totally dark room. Glad you didn't waste too much time with it.
Piece is looking great.

What a lovely finish! I can't decide if I like the vulture or the cauldron more...

Thanks for the info about the glow-in-the-dark floss. Now I know to avoid it.

Love you finish. Must admit I always start in the middle and work from there. I was given a piece as a Christmas gift and that is one you have to start at the corner, so that'll be first for me.

Happy stitching to you
