"If you can count the number of projects you have going , you need to begin another, so you have a varied range of complexity from the very simple 'mind-less' ones to those that demand undivided attention." (Laura Early).

PIF

I am pleased to say that Kate has now received her PIF gift from me . It didn't quite get there in time for Christmas , arriving on the 27th , but Kate really likes it , which is the main thing.
I did a bit of spying and discovered that Kate likes dragons ,and Christmas ornies , so this seemed like the perfect thing to stitch for her.

You may recognise it from the JCS ornie mag . This is the stitched piece before making up.The finished ornie on the fabric I used for backing. And a close up of the finished ornie. I chose to put the year on instead of the charted words , and I think it turned out quite nice .

So , that is the two people that signed up . I didn't get a third ,so if anyone wants to sign up now , I promise to send a stitched gift to you before the end of March , otherwise I will carry on with the plan of having a giveaway for the third PIF.

Thanks for dropping by,

Cath

Things received.

Finally , I can show some of the secret stitching I have been doing.
First up , Lainey has received the exchange parcel I sent to her. We are doing a year long/seasonal exchange with stitched pieces and extras. I really enjoyed doing these two Halloween stitches , and tried something new with the making up.I like the ruffled ribbon look , but have never done it before . I think it looks quite effective on this flat ornament .Then , I also did this Plumpkin pillow . Both of these are LK designs , and I love them . I did use slightly different colours on the Plumpkin , and didn't have the rec. charms , but they turned out ok.
This little sheep ornament if the gift that escaped the packaging in the last exchange, so I'm glad they decided to behave on their journey this time . I just couldn't resist this when I saw it , and I'm glad to say that Lainey loves it too.
And this is the whole package I sent . Lots of stitchy fabric, some sweeties ,hankies, a purse, notebook and bag , and the sheep of course.
And , I have stitched , finished and sent the first of my Pay It Forward packages. I made up this free design from Beth Twist at Heartstring Samplers into a pillow and sent it to Tricia. she received it in record time ( I posted it on Monday and it got to her is the USA on Thursday , pretty good ,especially when you consider I sent something to Stevenage in the UK at the same time , and that arrived Thursday too!)

Tricia has been in touch and said she loves it , and will be offering the PIF on her blog soon.

I have stitched the piece for Kates' PIF and will be making it up and posting it as soon as I can , then I'll have to decide what to do for the giveaway one.

Thanks for dropping by, I'll be back soon with more charity stitches.

Whoops , sorry.

Big apologies , I have just been re-reading comments and have discovered that two people have signed up for my PIF , how I missed that I do not know , call it a dumb moment . I am such a doofus. So , sorry to Kate and Tricia , I will be contacting you for your details as soon as I've finished his post , and checked that I haven't missed anyone else , lol. Cath

Lots of stuff

I am pleased to say that Lindsay and Gill have both received their giveaway prizes ,and seem happy with them. Still not heard back from Kath , so hanging on to that for now.
Despite feeling rotten this week, due to a stressful week last week , lack of sleep and coming down with a yucky cold, I have had a few smiley moments.
First , thank you to Ranae for your lovely comments about my blog, it kept me beaming for hours.
Then , on Tuesday my husband went out to get some chicken food, and came back with these too

Just lovely . He doesn't buy me flowers very often , and when he does , it's just because , but I love it when he does.

Not much to show stitching wise , I have been doing lots, but can't show most of it just yet. I have stitched up a little freebie from Debbie Draper http://www.debbiedraperdesigns.com/ , which I have plans for , but keeping my fingers crossed as I've never done anything like it before

Is it just me , or can anyone else see smiley clown faces in the corners?

Michelle is having a secret stitchy giveaway , if you want to go and have a try http://stitchcraftplace.blogspot.com/.

Just before I started blogging , I joined up for a Pay it Forward with Chris at http://alwayssmiling24.blogspot.com/ , and this is what I received

A handmade scissor case , complete with scissors and a handmade beaded fob. Just lovely , and what's more , Chris made seven of these to send out. We are lucky , lucky stitchers.

So , in true PIF spirit , I am now offering a Pay It Forward on here

So , if you would like to receive something made by me , in the next year , and you're prepared to offer the same thing to three more people, please leave a comment on this post , stating that you wish to join the PIF before 20th March.

If you would like to receive something made by me , but aren't able to offer it on at the moment , please leave a comment anyway, just saying that and you could still be entered.

If I get more than three people interested , I'll draw names. If there are less than three people interested , you automatically get put in , and I'll offer the other item(s) as giveaways. If no-one want to join , I'll make up three things and offer them as giveaways, I think that's fair enough.

Well , that's it for now .

Thanks for droping by , Cath
