"If you can count the number of projects you have going , you need to begin another, so you have a varied range of complexity from the very simple 'mind-less' ones to those that demand undivided attention." (Laura Early).

Catching up and some thank yous

Hi everyone , I've been meaning to post for the last couple of weeks, but time is getting the better of me .
My hubby has had a positive diagnosis of Genetic Haemochromatosis ,and has started treatment at the hospital. He has to have a unit of blood removed every two weeks at the moment , and we are hoping that it will start to bring his iron levels down. It is very early days , so no real change with his symptoms as yet .
I will have to be tested to see if I'm a carrier of it as the kids will have automatically inherited one faulty gene from their Dad , so they at the least will be a carrier. If I am clear then it won't have any effect on the kids, but they will have to be aware that it could be passed on to their children should they have any .
I have been stitching a bit , done a tiny bit more on the snails ,
and started a new project but I will show that next time when hopefully I will have done a bit more .
I have also been knitting , and have a plan for these .
I made this, basically to see if I could and now I'm not sure what to do with it . I've had an offer of a good home , so we will see , lol. she just needs a nice scarf of some sort.
On to the Thank yous .
First to Becky who very generously sent me a bag full of tins and boxes to aid my finishing . I am looking forward to finding some smalls to add to these. Thanks again Becky .Then to Chris who passes on her charts when she has finished with them , and very kindly sent me this happy little snowman , again something to look forward to . Thanks Chris , I love him. And , last but not least thanks to the lovely Nia who sent me this lovely Christmas card and bunch of everlasting mistletoe . Nia , you brought a smile to my heart , thank you sweetie.

If you haven't visited any of these lovely ladies blogs , please do so .

I am seriously hoping to get back into the swing of crafting and blogging , but probably not until after Christmas now. The presents are bought , but not wrapped , most of the cards are written , but not sent , one nativity done , the other on Wednesday, then discos and parties . I am not joking , the kids have a better social life than me , at five and seven ,lol.

There are a couple of lovely giveaways listed on my sidebar , please have a look .

Thanks for dropping by ,

Cath

Tying up loose ends.

Hi everyone. I haven't really been in a stitching mood since finishing the Chicken Run sampler , though I have been doing bits and bobs here and there . For now , I'm going to show a few pics and tie off some loose ends I'd forgotten about.
First off , the Moon Gazing Hare . I am pleased to say that my SIL liked it very much , and though it means I didn't get to keep it , I'm glad she likes it and it has gone home with her .
We went to the Chicken Run wedding on Saturday , and had a great day . The bride and groom looked lovely , and had a brilliant day , and they loved the picture . When they get back from their honeymoon , I will hopefully get permission to show some photos on here , but you will have to wait until then .
I also suddenly realised that I'd forgotten one of my husbands stitches , so here it is , another one that he did for me , bless.
I have been finishing off some squares for Stitch for Charity .
These are the last ones needed to complete a quilt ,and will be in the post to Auntie Jane hopefully tomorrow , along with these teddies .
They were knitted by another member of the group , and I stitched and stuffed them . I've had them a while , but the call has gone out as we are completely out of these now for the boxes of love, so if you know anyone who likes to knit , and would like to make a kiddy very happy , please get in touch for the pattern.
I hope to be back soon with some more pics.
Thanks for dropping by,
Cath

Stitching Showcase.

After my last post , there have been a couple of comments about my husband stitching , so I thought I'd show what he has done . When we first started seeing each other , my husband was a gamer . German board games , card games , role playing etc. He was determined to continue with it , and got me involved too . So to be fair , he said he'd try one of my hobbies. He started with this little "Bopping Dragon" and made it into a card for me . Then he wanted to try something a little different , and chose this wizard bookmark from one of my chart books . I didn't have all the correct threads ,and he was pretty impatient so it didn't turn out quite as it should have and has hardly seen the light of day since , but I've kept it anyway.
After that he needed a bigger challenge , and as he likes fantasy type things , chose this Unicorn. He was working regular night shifts at the time as a carer , and this helped him to stay awake .
The Indian is a kit I bought him for Christmas , and it set his love for using even weave instead of aida. He decided to leave a couple of the arrow heads off as it looked good like this.
Then there is the Skull. We put this on the wall in our living room , and not one person commented on it , but the kids think it's cool .
Of course we can't forget the other half of the Eagle pair, which is done on aida as I hadn't used even weave before when we started these.
At the moment , he has another Indian , Teresa Wentzlers' "The Castle" and a Dragon Eye on the go , though not much has been done on any of them for a while.
Hope you've enjoyed seeing these stitches.
Thanks for dropping by,
Cath
