"If you can count the number of projects you have going , you need to begin another, so you have a varied range of complexity from the very simple 'mind-less' ones to those that demand undivided attention." (Laura Early).

In case you're wondering

Why I'm not around much . As you may recall, In July my husband was made redundant from his job of nine years, what you won't know is at that time he was also ill. Initially we put it down to stress and exhaustion , but it got worse not better . He went to the Doctor and had routine blood tests for anaemia and other general things ,as he was totally exhausted all the time , falling asleep in the day as soon as he sat down, and feeling dreadful most of the time . The blood tests came up with the unexpected , his iron levels were high , not low . More than three times the usual level in fact. He was referred to the hospital , and his consultant thinks it is hemochromotosis , which is a genetic mutation which allows the body to absorb too much iron ,which then accumulates throughout your life , until it gets to a high enough level to cause problems . It usually makes itself know around 35-45 years of age in men , later in women . At the moment , we are waiting for the results of the genetic test,if it is this disease , the treatment is weekly blood reductions for up to and possibly over a year, then every two or three months afterwards for life , to maintain the lower levels of iron. As this is genetic , to suffer from it you have to inherit a faulty gene from both parents , so if it is a positive result I will then be tested to see if the kids may be affected in later life. As you can imagine ,the stress levels are incredibly high , and amongst this I am looking for a job to support my family, not the easiest of things at the best of times. I'm not stitching much as I can't concentrate , so not much to blog about , sorry . I hope to be back after some good news , with a new enthusiasm for everything , but time will tell . To the regular readers and follower , thank you for sticking with me , Cath

I can just imagine how stressed you are with everything that is going on. I'm very familiar with hemachromatosis because I worked as a lab technologist for most of my life. We actually had several patients with it who came in regularily for their bloodwork. I'll keep all of you in my prayers and hope that they can resolve your husband's illness soon.

Oh I am so sorry you are going through this. I hope the genetic tests are clear for you: that will be one less thing to worry about and thank God it is manageable...unpleasant but managable. Good luck with the job hunting:have hubby considered disability just until things settle down...though my hubby is also ill and refuses but it is a thought.
