"If you can count the number of projects you have going , you need to begin another, so you have a varied range of complexity from the very simple 'mind-less' ones to those that demand undivided attention." (Laura Early).

Bits and bobs .

I haven't really done much stitching since my last update . I can't seem to get rid of this stupid cold/blocked sinus things and I'm beginning to wonder if it's allergy driven . Yuck ! So , I haven't been sleeping too well .
I did do another couple of squares for the baby quilts after the hippo :

Elephant and Monkey . There are a few more in the set , but I'm not sure if I want to do them or not. At the time I didn't have one of the threads that was needed for pretty much all of the rest of the charts ,and now it's kind of gone off the boil a bit .

And then , there was the pin cushion that I made for the giveaway , which is now winging its' way over to Lisa . I really enjoyed stitching it . for anyone who doesn't recognise it ,the chart is " 'Tis Red" from the 2010 ornament issue of JCS. I used one of the 21st Century thread I chose at the Harrogate stitch show ,and I was really pleased with it . The thread is only four strands , but is thicker than the usual stranded cotton , and I thought it gave really good coverage with just one strand . It feels really nice , and there was no fraying or problems at all . I really like how it turned out .

The fabric it is lying on is what I used for backing , I think the top picture is probably the most accurate colour wise . I'm looking forward to trying out more of those threads now, and it's looking hopeful that I will get to go to Harrogate again this year ,so fingers crossed that I do , and they are there again.

I have got back into the stitchy groove a bit , and am currently doing a couple of small projects for the kids , but I'll show those next time.

Thanks for dropping by ,

Cath

Great finishes! Sorry you aren't well, do you think your sinus problems could be hayfever?

Hi Cath,

Lovely pincushion!

Hope you feel better soon... There is a lot more hay fever around earlier this year than previous years for some reason, probably because it has been so dry for the time of year.

Love
Dawn
