Yesterday morning saw the last of the back stitch on the snails, so another UFO/WIP crossed off the list.
Mind you, I didn't have to look far for inspiration. Along with the rain , came teams of snails to overpower my garden. The yellow broom was full of them.
Need a few closer looks?
And here is the nicer version .
This was originally going to be made into a bag , but my son has requested a stand up frame ,so got to go hunting for one to fit now.
My daughter asked for a flamingo to start with, but she has changed her mind so often , I lost track of what I was supposed to be stitching for her . Now the snails are finished , she has asked for a tiger , and what do you know? Look what else was in the black hole of started and abandondness.
So , this will be getting some work done on it very soon, though she is still asking for a bag (at the moment) .
So ,a finish means a new start , right ?
Here is Pink Owl on a Branch by Cherry Hill Stitchery. Started 28th May and finished 29th May . Stitched with the recommended DMC threads on 16 count aida .
A little flower detail .
I loved stitching this , and can see it in so many different colours , so expect to see much more of this little owl ,lol .
Thanks for dropping by ,
Cath

Aww your projects are looking so sweet..
Big hugs x
Oh very cute...I feel my wishlist growing lol. The owl is perfect but I also love the snails...which as we all know is what little boys are made of lol
I definitely don't like snails in my garden!
But the stitch piece looks lovely.
Good progress on your WIP's.
I like the cross stitch snails much better than the real ones!! I've been using Sluggo for weeks. the slugs eat my Dahlias down to the roots.
Cute projects! I like the nicer version of the snails. :)
Fun stitches! That is a lot of snails.
My favorite part of the owl are the little pink flowers, makes me think of cherry blossoms.
Ewww Cath the cross-stitched snails are much nicer!
It's the same dull grey weather up here.
Your Owl is adorable!!!!
Hope to email you in the next few days.
ooohh squee I do not like snails and slugs and anything buggy-yuk. The stitched ones I can cope with. Such lovely stitching again- like the tiger best I think. Hope those chooks are enjoying the rain!!
Hugs
ohhh I love that owl so much!! =)
Great work sweetie!
Gorgeous owl, but those snails should have had a warning in the post title lol
Love your snails. Your stitched ones that is! That tiger will be beautiful and your stitched pink owl is so cute. Great job.

The owl is very cute. The tiger is going be beautiful and on a bag too. I do like the real snails. I haven't seen snails since I was a kid.
Stitched snails only for me Cath! Think I'd be a bit squeamish with too many real ones!
WOW! You stitched the little owl up really quickly, how cute, hope by the next post the blue one is sitting alongside it?
Hope you've had a good Half-Term, despite our rotten English weather!

I love all your pieces! They are all beautiful! Congrats on your two finishes! Yeah, the stitched snails are MUCH nicer than the real ones! Lucky you having a tiger in your stash! Can't wait to see that one progress!
Joyful Stitching!

The tiger design is beautiful, I look forward to watching this project grow :)
