Prickles , fur and crosses .

Just over a week ago (Friday 19th) me and the kids were walking to school when someone told us there was a hedgehog running around on the road a bit further on .The kids were pretty excited , so off we scurried to try and catch a glimpse of it. It was just entering someones' driveway and going under the car ,so we left it alone and carried on to school .
On the way back , I saw it again , running along the road , and getting pretty close to the main road. I was very worried as it was past 9 am , and already getting pretty hot , plus I did not want to come back and find it squished on the road . Luckily , I had a biggish fabric bag with me , so I scooped up the hog and put it in my bag and brought it home. Then it had the joy of being put into a cat carrier and left in my daughters' room (the coolest in the house) with a saucer of water and some cat biscuits.

Later that day , we took it and let it go in a field behind the houses where I found it , so hopefully it found its' way home again . It was lovely , as I remember feeding and looking after hedgehogs when I was a kid , so it was nice to relive it with my own children. They thought it was amazing .

On to the fur , just wanted to share a couple of pics of my boys ,lol.
Fraser having a lazy moment , and Finley giving me "that" look. (He does it a lot .)

Stitching time , yay !
Here's a finish I did for Gaynor I have not yet decided how to finish finish it though .

And , progress on Rosita. I am almost finished with the first page , but have decided to have a little break .
Still loving this one though , so pretty .
This is what I decided to stitch over the weekend. It for a charity quilt. The theme is hearts and the person it is for loves purple , and also loves food . I am thinking it needs something else to fill in though , it looks a bit bare to me. Thinking of  putting some smaller hearts around the cupcake , what do you think ?

I have also sent and received packages in the Birds , Bees and Butterflies exchange through Stitched with Love Exchanges , but can't show those yet .

And, I have posted out parcels to Cucki and Julie. So sorry for the delay in sending out your give away prizes ladies , but I hope you like what you get .

Has anyone looked at the "Pimp your Blog" section ? I am wondering about just having scheduled posts about new blogs rather than having it on the sidebar .

Thanks for dropping by , not sure when I will be back with it being school holidays , but hopefully soon .
 Cath x

How fun, a hedgehog! My daughter would have wanted to keep it as a pet but it belongs in the wild where it came from.

Great WIPs and love those kitties!

Wow! What a great adventure for your children with the hedgehog - very Beatrix Potteresque! Lovely stitching and I do agree, your cupcake does look a bit lonely inside that heart!

What a cute adventure with the hedgehog. I have never seen one up close (except for the chocolate variety which I love!).

Your boys Fraser & Finley are so cute!

Hi Cath, Oh Hedgehogs are so sweet. Our old golden retriever used to carry them in his mouth if he found one in the garden and bring them indoors. Your cats are gorgeous, stitching too as always.

Awww how cute! I did the same thing once when my Dad and I spotted one walking towards to the road. I'd bought a planter so scooped it up in that!

Lovely stitching as always.

Heeeeee! How cute! I love hedgehogs. :)
Rosita is really coming along quick!
You might have room to put another heart inside THAT heart to fill the space?

Although we don't have hedgehogs in our area, my son purchased one from a pet store when he was young. It was a great pet and I loved watching the cats trying to approach it! It was good of you to rescue this little fellow.
Fraser and Finley are adorable! I do love furbabies.
Your WIP are all lovely, especially the piece you did for Gaynor.
